Getting a contractor License in Arizona is no easy task. To pass the Exams, most applicants take 6-12 months to study contractor law, building codes, state regulations and standards of proper construction methods. Applicants have to prove trade skills competence, verify 5 years of experience, pass a criminal and credit background check, as well as acquire a surety bond to guarantee every project is completed properly.

  1. REFUND LOST MONIES: Many homeowners are not aware that if they hire an unlicensed handyman for a project, they forfeit their rights to use the State ROC contractor recovery fund to get deposits or other lost monies refunded back to them.

  2. WARRANTY: An unlicensed handyman provides no enforceable warranty of work. We provide a 2-year workmanship warranty on every job we do. If There’s a problem You have an office to visit, and employees who answer the phone.

  3. PROJECT SHUT DOWNS: The ROC enforcement agents (see blue article below) are always driving around checking work trucks and homes under construction, as well as tips from nosy neighbors called in. The ROC can shut down your project mid-way causing you to scramble and try to find a licensed person to finish or re-do the job entirely after the unlicensed handyman is pulled off your job-site for the crime of contracting without a license. We have been hired several times to finish projects where the Handyman was ordered to cease and desist leaving the homeowner with a real mess.

  4. INJURY OR ACCIDENTS: Most unlicensed contractors carry minimum insurance or only liability without workers comp, if there’s an injury, your homeowners insurance could be activated to cover medical costs of an injured handyman.

  5. HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE GAP : If you hire an unlicensed Handyman and there’s home damage your policy may not cover damage! Most policies look at you as the General Contractor if you hire unlicensed Handyman for a project. You assume responsibility for damages or medical bills for the unlicensed workers. Check with your insurance agent to fully understand the risks to you.

As far as we know, we are the only handyman to use employee labor instead of subcontractors and provide workers comp protection on every project. We don't hand your job off to a Subcontractor; You'll have our A-Team in-house staff on your project.
